PlateTXT Promotes Safety First

Safety First

Safety is a constant theme in everything we do as a company, the services we offer, and the products we develop and take to market.  It is a corporate philosophy championed by the President and adopted by everyone in the company.  Safety is a key message PlateTXT will continue to spread as we launch our National Safe Driving Campaign, develop future products and services, and work with companies desiring to use the PlateTXT Platform within their organizations.  Here are just a few ways we take Safety seriously.

A Message from the PlateTXT President

As PlateTXT President, I take the safety of our employees, our customers, and their families very seriously.  My family uses the entire suite of PlateTXT products, and my daughter (Jordan Ashleigh Unzueta) has the distinguished honor of being the first teen driver in our National Safe Driving Program.  The PlateTXT Platform was personally innovated, developed, and brought to market with the primary goal of keeping our kids safe by remaining involved in the driver education and maturity process even when we are not in the car.

Since the original concept, we have launched additional products focused on increasing personal and community safety.  These include our Sr. Safe Driving Program, Enterprise Fleet Management, Court Oriented Program, and Private Mobile Messaging focused on controlling access to personal contact information.  In addition, we have eliminated some products from our portfolio and pipeline because they did not align with our core values as a company.

License Plate Utilization

At the very core of our platform design is our decision to use license plates as a personal unique identifier.  Our license plate is one of our most public and most private pieces of information.  This allows PlateTXT customers to communicate via private mobile text messaging while being confident their personal contact information is not being passed along with the message or being shared outside the PlateTXT Platform.

The Public Records ACT (Government Code Section 6253 et seq.) provides that information collected by the Department is generally considered public information and is subject to inspection by the public.  Exceptions to this public disclosure obligation include: Personal information and Confidential Information.

Process and Products

Safety can be found in many of our processes and products, even to the degree we have prioritized safety above user adoption and ease-of-use.

  • Becoming a registered member of the PlateTXT community requires members to acknowledge our terms of use
  • Our social/family contracts encourage the elimination of technology use while driving
  • Our mobile applications require users to acknowledge and be accountable they are not utilziing our products while driving
    • We have postponed launch of our mobile applications until we can build this functionality into the product
    • Future releases will include hands-free/voice-to-text recognition
  • Our privacy policy reflects our committment to maintaining personal contact information

The PlateTXT Corporation promotes safety in our products, processes, and partnerships.

PlateTXT Foundation

We have established the PlateTXT Foundation to help other individuals and organizations make our communities stronger and safer.  We have implemented the same foundation model made popular by Salesforce.com in an effort to advance our philantrophic efforts.
